At SSNAP, we’re committed to supporting the incredible NHS staff on the Neonatal Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital by helping them grow their skills and knowledge through external training opportunities. Staff can apply to SSNAP for funding towards specialist courses that enhance their professional development and, in turn, the care they provide to babies and families.
We fund 80% of course fees—and to date, we’ve never turned down an application. Recent training supported by SSNAP includes FINE (Family and Infant Neurodevelopmental Education) training, the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative, and attendance at the annual REASON (Research and Education Awarness of Sick Neonates) conference.
By investing in our neonatal staff, we’re helping to ensure the highest standards of care today and for the future.
We also recognise the importance of appreciation, morale, and wellbeing. That’s why we love to give back—whether it’s funding the staff Christmas party, celebrating special occasions like Easter, Eid, and Christmas with thoughtful gifts and delicious snacks, or simply saying thank you for the tireless care they give every day.
By supporting the team behind the care, we help create a positive, compassionate environment for both staff and families on the unit.
"Thank you SSNAP for enabling so many of us to go to REASON this year. The learning opportunities and subsequent improvements we can bring in to practice that has come from just 2 days is incredible"
