My name is Doreen, and as a newborn hearing screener here at the John Radcliffe, I’ve long been an admirer of the incredible work SSNAP does. I’ve always helped support the charity when I can, but a wonderful opportunity arose last year that connected my world with a truly special group of people.

It all began at a Christmas lunch in Market Bosworth where through my sister-in-law, Melanie, I had the pleasure of meeting a circle of lovely ladies. As we chatted, I discovered their amazing knitting circle, and a beautiful partnership was born. Since that day, they have been tirelessly creating the most beautiful, hand-knitted blankets and quilts for our babies in the NICU, as well as crafting items to raise vital funds.

What makes their generosity even more remarkable is that all the materials are generously supplied by the ladies themselves and through donations from their friends, all for this worthy cause.

Their creations are so much more than just blankets; they are gifts of comfort, warmth, and love for our smallest patients and their families during a challenging time. On behalf of the entire NCU team, and every baby wrapped in their cosy work, we send a million thanks to these wonderful Woolly Wonders.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Doreen
