π World Prematurity Day 2025 β Supporting the Tiniest Fighters π
Today, on World Prematurity Day, we join families and neonatal teams around the world to raise awareness of the challenges faced by babies born too soon, and to celebrate their incredible strength.
Every year, 1 in 10 babies are born prematurely. At SSNAP, we stand beside these babies and their families every step of the way - offering emotional support, practical help, and funding equipment and training at the Newborn Care Unit in Oxford.
This yearβs global theme, βGive preterm babies a strong start for a brighter future,β reminds us that every baby deserves the best possible care and every family deserves the right support, no matter how early their journey begins.
πΈ Our Little SSNAPlings group continues that support once families have left the hospital, creating a caring community where parents can connect, share experiences, and watch their amazing little ones grow and thrive together.
π To every baby born too soon: you are mighty.
π To every parent whoβs faced those early days in neonatal care: you are not alone.
π To every NHS hero caring for premature and sick babies: thank you.
Join us by wearing purple, sharing your story, or donating to support families in neonatal care. Together, we can make sure every baby has the best possible start in life.
