Christine, Donna and Lauren - here for you, every day.

In this video, you’ll meet the dedicated team at the heart of SSNAP’s support on the neonatal unit.

When your baby is admitted to neonatal care, it can feel like your world turns upside down overnight. The days can be long, the emotions can be overwhelming, and it’s easy to feel alone. That’s why SSNAP’s Family Care Team is right there on the unit - offering both emotional and practical support to families, every step of the way. Whether you need someone to talk to, help finding your way through hospital life, or simply a listening ear and a little encouragement, Christine, Donna and Lauren are there for you.

Every baby admitted to the unit also receives a SSNAP Admission Box - a small gesture that can make a big difference in those early days. Inside are thoughtful essentials like a lid-safe coffee cup, ear plugs for ward rounds, a memory book and pen, soft muslins, baby’s very first teddy, and helpful information to guide and comfort families as they begin their neonatal journey.

And throughout your stay, if you need anything - from toiletries to snacks, or just a friendly face to talk to - please don’t hesitate to reach out. We also know how powerful it can be to simply sit down, share a cuppa, and connect with someone who truly understands. That’s why SSNAP hosts a weekly coffee morning on the unit - a warm, welcoming space where families can relax, enjoy a snack, and chat with others walking a similar path.

And when the days feel especially tough, we do our best to bring moments of joy too, celebrating special occasions, milestones, holidays, and those little moments that remind families (and staff) they are seen, supported and cared for.
