SSNAP'S 40th Anniversary - Family Journeys through the Decades

33 years ago - The Harris Family and Baby Robyn

"I was born at 25 weeks in the JR hospital weighing 1lb 10oz. I stayed in SCBU till the end of October (having been born in June) receiving round the clock care and my parents received wonderful support too. I was one month old when I had my first hug from my Dad outside of my incubator!

I literally wouldn’t be here today without all the care, medical input and help from everyone at SSNAP and SCBU!

I am now working as an Occupational Therapist in dementia research and despite some challenges, from a bleed on my brain, I live a full and varied life.

I hope this encourages the parents, children of SSNAP and their other care givers that there is hope and a future available in some form for everyone!

Keep up your great work! Love and deep gratitude from, a grateful SCBU-er! "

Robyn Harris, aged 33 x

SSNAP are so grateful to Robyn and her parents for sharing their story with us, to help us celebrate our Family Journeys and the support that SSNAP gave to them 33 years ago. Thank you so much xxxx
