"So I started from not running at all a few months ago and have slowly built up and completed 10km yesterday so just over 6 miles! I am super pleased with this and I am training with my mate Conor who is running the event with me. We are completing a 12 week plan as we speak to get us up to the Half Marathon distance / time and are slightly ahead of where we need to be which is fantastic. I felt like I couldn’t do it at the start but absolutely now know I will one way or another!

Our son Finnley spent 125 days in the unit before sadly passing away almost 10 years ago. Our third son Henry spent 2 weeks in the unit before coming home 3 years ago. My wife Gemma and I along with friends and family have raised £87k for SSNAP over the last 10 years in memory of Finnley. I am also now a director on the board with SSNAP and love being involved with a charity so close to my heart.I strongly believe that SSNAP's fantastic support of the unit helped me bring my son Henry home.

The charity and the staff in the unit do amazing things and also have to deal with some of the most sad and upsetting personal journeys imaginable. They are all truly amazing!

We have done many things to fundraise. Car boots, prize draws, family fun days, abseils, runs, treks, bake sales to mention a few! Don’t consider fundraising; do it!"
