Providing Comfort and Support
At the centre of everything we do is supporting families whilst their baby is in the Neonatal Care Unit.
You will see members of our family care team every day on the unit. Look out for us and say hello. We can help by providing emotional and practical support during your baby's time in the Neonatal Care Unit.
FAMILY CARE TEAM
You will see our Family Care Team and volunteers every day, both on the NCU and visiting the maternity wards. We are here to talk with you, offer you practical advice about your time at John Radcliffe and help you in any way we can.
We hold regular coffee mornings in the LDU parents lounge and can be found in our office at the entrance to the Women's Centre on Level 2. Please pop in and say hello.
TRANSPORT AND ACCOMMODATION
Some of the babies in the NCU at John Radcliffe come from very far afield. A recent study by Bliss showed that families have to spend, on average, an extra £282 per week whilst their baby is in hospital. We want to make sure that parents spend as much time as possible with their babies, if there is a financial reason that is stopping you from being with your baby then come and speak to our Family Support Team and we'll see if we can help.
SPACE FOR YOU
SSNAP provides all the equipment, furniture and refreshments on the NCU for parents.
It is really important to us that you have access to hot drinks and somewhere to rest, close to your baby.
If you'd like to help us provide this space, or have any suggestions for how we could improve please click the button below.
For more information about how we can support you at this time, please get in touch or pop by and see us in our office.
